Jiyu CNC Launches New Z6M5D CNC Multi-Spindle Drilling Machine to Boost Efficiency in Panel Furniture Processing

2026-09-04

Jiyu CNC Co., Ltd. has recently launched its new-generation CNC multi-spindle drilling machine, the Z6M5D, purpose-built for the high-volume, high-precision drilling required in drawer and cabinet door processing—giving furniture and cabinetry manufacturers a more efficient, stable automated drilling solution for these core components.

The Z6M5D is built around a fully automated processing workflow, with the following sequence: magazine feeding → horizontal hole drilling at both ends → vertical hole drilling on both end faces → side guide-hole drilling for slide rails → bottom-support slide rail guide-hole drilling → vertical anti-chipping edge guide-hole drilling → automatic front-end material return. This end-to-end continuous process, from loading to finished-part discharge, has been specifically optimized for high-frequency, precision-critical hole patterns such as drawer side-panel slide-rail mounting holes and cabinet door connector holes, reducing manual intervention and speeding up the overall production cycle.

In terms of core features, the Z6M5D is equipped with a clip-style magazine that saves manual loading time, paired with an equal-spacing servo feeding system that enables more precise panel positioning and material transfer—significantly improving hole-position consistency and processing stability for drawer and door panels. The machine also features automatic front-end material return, further reducing manual handling and boosting overall processing efficiency. On the operational side, the Z6M5D comes with a touchscreen control system offering a clean, intuitive interface, allowing operators to get up to speed quickly without extensive training—effectively lowering labor and training costs for manufacturers.

The machine is designed specifically for drawer and cabinet door processing across furniture and cabinetry production, meeting the batch, standardized processing needs of specialized operations such as drawer slide-rail holes and door hardware connector holes. It is especially well suited to custom furniture and cabinetry manufacturers whose core products center on drawer units and cabinet doors.

Industry Perspective: As the panel furniture, whole-house customization, and modular cabinetry sectors continue to move toward large-scale, automated production, drawers and cabinet doors—among the highest-volume, most frequently processed components in furniture and cabinetry manufacturing—have an outsized impact on overall production throughput and product yield through their drilling efficiency and precision. Traditional multi-spindle drilling machines are often held back when handling the high-frequency, high-volume demands of drawer slide-rail holes and door connector holes, struggling with inefficient automatic loading and unloading and hole-position consistency that depends heavily on operator experience. New-generation CNC multi-spindle drilling machines equipped with servo feeding, automatic material return, and intelligent human-machine interfaces are increasingly becoming the industry's preferred choice for replacing legacy woodworking machinery and achieving cost reduction with efficiency gains. At the same time, as smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 principles continue to permeate cabinetry production lines, more woodworking machinery manufacturers are introducing equipment tailored to specific processing scenarios. Against this backdrop, Jiyu CNC's launch of the drawer- and door-focused Z6M5D reflects the broader trend of specialized, intelligent upgrading across the woodworking machinery industry.

A representative from Jiyu CNC noted: "Drawers and cabinet doors are among the highest-volume components in furniture and cabinetry production, and the efficiency of the drilling process directly determines the production capacity ceiling for the entire line. The Z6M5D was developed with this specific scenario in mind—by combining a clip-style magazine with a servo feeding system, we've achieved a real step-change in both precision and efficiency for drawer and door processing, while the touchscreen interface makes it easy for frontline workers to get up and running quickly. We wanted a machine that's genuinely simple to use, efficient, and reliable."

Looking ahead, Jiyu CNC will continue to increase R&D investment in CNC multi-spindle drilling machines and other smart processing equipment, keeping pace with the woodworking machinery market's demand for technology tailored to specific processing scenarios, and providing efficient, stable, and easy-to-operate automated processing solutions for more furniture, cabinetry, and custom furniture enterprises.

After years of research and development and practice, CNC cutting machines have developed many mature models, such as three-process cutting machines (entry-level), four-process cutting machines, cutting machining centers, dual-spindle row drilling and package machining centers and One spindle, one row of drills, one tool magazine, machining center, etc. The four-process CNC cutting machine is an economical multi-function CNC equipment.

The four-process CNC cutting machine has four spindles. When producing panel furniture, all four spindles can perform drilling processing. Two of the spindles are high-power spindles dedicated to grooving and blanking, and the other two spindles are dedicated to drilling. In this way, the hole sizes usually encountered in the production of panel furniture can be processed. At the same time, the four-process CNC cutting machine can also be well used in the production of cabinet doors.

All four spindles can be used to make door shapes. When the door shape requires four or less knife types, all Can be processed with pneumatic tool changer. At present, there are relatively few manufacturers using the four-step process, and the price/performance ratio is not very high. However, the four-step cutting machine is relatively good in terms of comprehensive application.

Choosing a woodworking cutting machine must meet our production requirements, determine our own production process requirements, the output needs of the automatic furniture factory, determine the budget for equipment investment, and select a model with an appropriate price through comprehensive consideration of all aspects. After determining the model, you need to consider the quality of the equipment, buy the right product at the right price, and pursue a cost-effective product. Choose a high-quality product by examining the strength of the equipment manufacturing factory, the core accessories of the machine (including control systems, drive systems, racks, guide rails, reducers, frequency converters, electrical components, pneumatic parts, etc.), and the manufacturer's service quality.

The machine automatically loads panels via the magazine, reducing manual handling and positioning steps to ensure a stable, continuous supply of panels for the subsequent drilling.
The clip-style magazine can be loaded with multiple panels at once for continuous feeding, reducing the need for frequent manual loading and effectively saving on labor costs.
Driven by a servo motor, this system achieves precise, equally spaced panel transfer. Compared with traditional manual or mechanical feeding methods, it offers higher positioning accuracy and lower repeat error, ensuring consistency across all drilled holes.

Drills vertical holes on the flat end faces of the panel, meeting the vertical mounting requirements of hardware such as drawer slide rails and door hinges.

Drills horizontal holes at both ends of the panel, mainly used for horizontal mounting holes connecting drawers, doors, and other components to hardware and fittings.

Drills guide holes on the bottom of the panel for bottom-support slide rails, aiding installation and positioning to enhance the drawer's load-bearing capacity and service life.
Drills vertical anti-chipping guide holes along the panel edge, effectively reducing edge cracking or chipping during drilling and improving the finished quality of the panel.
